2014 gave us one of the earliest harvests on record in many areas, but in our two Russian River vineyards, Graham and Keefer, it turned out to be a fairly normal vintage.  The crops were healthy and came in around three tons per acre in both locations, which are only about a mile apart on the map.  The limited water holding capacity of the gold ridge sandy loam was just enough to get us through this third consecutive year of the drought.

The 2014 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is very similar to our popular 2012 RRV.  There are ripe berry and cherry flavors surrounded by a fair amount of impressive French oak, all framed by the perfect balance of acidity.  It's going to be hard to resist drinking this right away, but the patient will be rewarded as this should be at its best from 2016 to 2021.
