Our 2017 Graham Family Vineyard Pinot Noir is another fine example of what the Russian River Valley can produce in a very good year.  There were two events in 2017 that stood out as being out of the ordinary.  The first was the great Labor Day Weekend heat wave that saw record high temperatures, above 110 degrees.  The second was the trio of wine country fires in early October that raged through Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties.  We will always remember 2017 for these two reasons.  The grapes for the 2017 Graham were harvest on September 19, halfway between the heat wave and the fires.

The '17 Graham is the typical medium garnet color for this vineyard, with a clear, bright appearance.  The nose is classic Russian River Valley with ripe, spicy Pinot fruit and some mushroom notes in the background.  The soft and round palate feel will be hard to resist when the wine is young, but there's good balance for several years of aging.  The anticipated maturity is from late 2019 through 2025.
