2008 Rosella's Vineyard Syrah
In Stock
Our 2008 Rosella's Vineyard Syrah saw its longest barrel aging since we began making Syrah from Rosella's in 2004. The very late harvest of '08 led to a primary fermentation that lasted well into January 2009. Malolactic fermentation didn't finish until the end of April 2010, and we knew this wine needed a lot of time in barrel to settle down before it would be ready for bottling. As usual, we used 100% whole clusters, stems and all, to make our '08 Syrah. This helps with extended ageability, but also necessitates aerative decantings if you'd like to try this wine before 2013. We anticipate it should hit its stride sometime after 2013 and should last well into the 2020s.
