2013 Graham Family Vineyard Pinot Noir
The 10th bottling of the Graham Family Vineyard for August West is the 2013. Howard Graham planted the vineyard in the spring of 2002, and our first crop came off the vines in 2004. There are five clones of Pinot planted at Graham, and in 2013, we brought in four of them for August West: Dijon clones 667, 777 and 828 along with the Swiss clone 23, also known as Mariafeld. The final blend of our 2013 Graham vineyard designate is predominantly clone 23 with a bit of 777 and 828.
At this young stage, the 2013 Graham is showing a lot of similarities to the 2005 Graham, which is just now reaching full maturity. We expect the '13 to be drinkable at a younger age than the '05, but also to age just as beautifully. The 2013 has a dense richness on the palate which perfectly expresses the ideal growing conditions of 2013. Enjoy this from 2015 through 2025.
