2015 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
In Stock
2015 will always be remembered as the earliest harvest in just about all appellations in California, until we have an earlier one. In a typical year, we harvest the Peterson Vineyard from mid September through about the first week in October. In 2015, we started picking Peterson Pinot on August 24 and finished the 8 acres by September 4. We also got our first ever fruit from Joe Alarid's Tondre Vineyard, just south of Peterson, and this came in on August 30.
The 2015 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir has all of the aromatic characteristics of our SLH Pinots from the past, but the 2015 has a larger frame and more energy than any of the prior vintages. We predict this will be one of our longer aging appellation Pinots from the SLH. Give this until 2018 to hit its stride, and it should drink well through 2027.
