2017 Peterson Vineyard Chardonnay
In Stock
The 2017 Peterson Vineyard Chardonnay comes from August West partner, John Peterson's vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Originally it was entirely a Pinot Noir site, but John put in an acre of Chardonnay in 2011. The '17 is August West's third vintage of Chardonnay from Peterson. As usual, it was barrel-fermented in neutral French oak, and in 2017, we only had enough fruit for one barrel, 24 cases. Try the Peterson against our other SLH Chardonnay, the 2017 Cortada Alta.
The '17 Peterson Chardonnay has a light gold color, with a subtle nose of lemon curd, honeysuckle, beeswax and just a hint of tropical fruit. The palate is dense with medium weight, bright acidity, and a long, spicy finish. Drink this from 2019-2022.
